Saturday Heritage made up Tuesdays game with Watauga postponed due to bad weather. The 4a Pioneers came out smoking hitting 8 first half threes and taking a commanding 20 point lead into halftime 47-27. John Cannon got into early foul trouble and Watauga took advantage. Alex Biggerstaff was a 1st half bright spot as he scored 15.
Heritage returned to the floor in the 3rd quarter much more determined and got back into the game. Defensive intensity picked up and showed on the scoreboard as Watauga’s high scoring offense was held to only nine points. Offensively cousins Alex Biggerstaff 7 and Drew Hoilman 10 led the way. Hoilman, a freshman called up to fill in for injured senior Dillion Vess had a tremendous game. The Watauga lead was cut from 20 to 7, 55-49.
In the fourth quarter big men John Cannon 8 and Tyson Tomberlin 8 helped fuel the attack. MH cut the lead to 5 several times but was not quite able to complete the comeback as Watauga won 79-74.
