In a battle of Cougars Heritage traveled to Asheville HS. The 3a Asheville team never was in the game at MHHS dominated 86-53. Junior Alex Biggerstaff had his finest night scoring 29 points by shooting a sizzling 67% from the field. He and senior center John Cannon scored 18 of MH’s 22 first quarter points as Heritage led 22-8. Senior point guard Drew Letterman led the 2^{nd quarter scoring hitting, 3 threes and scoring 9 points. MH headed into halftime leading 46-17. Letterman 4 and Trenton Burleson 3 handed out the assists. Cougar defense held Asheville to 14% shooting in the 1st half and 31 % for the game. Heritage also dominated the boards with 14 offensive boards in the first half. Credit Tyson Tomberlin, John Cannon and Drew Hoilman for great board work.}
Asheville came out in the 2nd half and cut the lead under 20. the combination of Biggerstaff, Cannon and letterman puhed the lead back up 68-42. In the fourth quarter all of MH’s team got several minutes. Brian Krause, Xander Silvers and Eli Buckner led the scoring as MH closed out the battle of Cougars with a convincing win.
