COUGARS WIN 85-65 OVER THE RAMS
The Starmount rams came to Heritage Friday night to see who could get to the 4th round of the state playoffs. "The Den" had a packed house and a rowdy crowd. Both teams came out on fire the cougars Alex "the phenom" Biggerstaff getting the first points of the night . But Starmount had a huge amount of speed behind Dillion Dobson who lead the rams with 14pts . The Rams could run the floor at will in the first half. Score was 16 all in a very fast and wide open ball game when "The Phenom" nailed a three in the corner give the cougars a little breathing room and with Drew letterman the cougars took a 20-19 lead at the End of the first. But starmount fast play was very sound,getting they're first buckets to drop came out in the 2nd took the lead 19-22. But the cougars went on a tear with 3 pointers Cougars hit 11 three pointers as team when Trenton "TB" Burleson got hot getting 3 finishing with 9, Letterman hit 2 giving him 7 points on the night Biggerstaff lit up the rams all night finishing with 23. Cougar outscored the rams 25 to 13 in the second frame. Taking a 44-33 lead into the half. The second half was more of the same ,But now the big men inside would take over Tyson Tomberlin was a beast again on the boards grabbing 11 getting 7 Pt's. John "boom boom" Cannon blocked everything that came down the lane Cannon finished with 28pts 11 rebs and 7 big block 3 was in one defensive stand. Cougar shot over 80 percent from the line. Cougars shot 58 percent from the floor as a team with Spencer "the priest" Bishop having 4 . Starmount having a real big name but just played very well as a team all year. Could not anything to fall in the 2nd half, Cougars lead 61-45 end of the 3rd period. Brain Krause for the Cougars had 2 in the fourth and Dalton Woody had a three at the buzzer . Cougars win easily 85-65. By winning cougars face Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology (THAT IS A MOUTH FULL)! They are 27- 2 on the year they re school size is over 1200 while Heritages is just over 700 students. Game will be played in Greensboro.
